Who I Am
Ben has been immersed in music since he was twelve, cutting his teeth in local bands and growing into a guitarist with a deep love for experimentation, improvisation, and sonic storytelling. Over the past 11 years, he’s developed a versatile skill set that spans technical metal, ambient textures, and expressive lead work, guided by a commitment to musical dialogue and creative adaptability.
Currently, Ben plays guitar in two Brisbane-based bands: The Lost Heads Club, known for its raw energy and genre-blending sound, and Mum’s Cardigan, a project that recently won the 2025 QUT Battle of the Bands. These experiences have shaped Ben’s approach to session work: treating each collaboration as a space to listen, respond, and build something unique.
Improvisation is central to Ben’s practice. Defined not just as a technique, but as a method of inquiry; a way to explore ideas in real time and push creative boundaries. Whether you’re looking for a brutal breakdown, a shimmering lead, or something entirely unexpected, Ben aims to contribute guitar parts that are technically sharp, emotionally resonant, and tailored to your project’s vision.
Ben offers remote and studio-based session work, with flexible options for tracking, layering, and collaborative writing; with an overarching goal to support artists, producers, and composers with guitar work that enhances their sound and brings fresh energy to their music. If you’re building something bold, chaotic, or beautifully strange, Ben would love to be part of it.

Here’s some original demos that I have also composed:
Mum’s Cardigan playing ‘Smooth’ by Santana at the Grand Final of the QUT Battle of the Bands 2025. This particular solo I believe demonstrates some of my improvisation skills; as most of the solos for these performances were very unplanned/impromptu.
